Acuros® CQD® extended short wavelength infrared extended SWIR (eSWIR) cameras have a pathbreaking sensitivity from 350nm to 2000nm wavelength. This new family of eSWIR products is built with pixel formats up to 1920 x 1080 at a pixel pitch of 15 microns. Similar to the ground-breaking Acuros® CQD® SWIR cameras, these new cameras are the highest resolution eSWIR cameras commercially available.
Competitive InGaAs cameras cannot typically extend their responsivity beyond 1600nm, nor can InGaAs cameras practically achieve full-HD capability in any wavelength band. Mercury Cadmium Telluride (HgCdTe) based extended SWIR cameras are lower resolution than CQD cameras, are prohibitively expensive and require bulky, multi-stage cooling systems. World-class detectivity and dark noise performance for cameras operating in this band are achieved at room temperature. Broadband sensitivity and low noise are achieved via specialized process engineering of proprietary Acuros® CQD® quantum dot materials. The Acuros® CQD® eSWIR cameras with single-stage thermo-electric coolers (TECs) exhibit sensitivity superior to most traditional epitaxial infrared sensors in the 1600 – 2000nm band.
This new eSWIR capability enables new imaging applications including machine vision, scientific research, medical imaging, long-range imaging through summer haze, maritime haze, and fine dust, wafer defect inspection, high-speed thermal imaging, hydrocarbon, and gas detection, plastic sorting, laser beam profiling and more. All Acuros® cameras are GenICam compliant and come with USB3 or GigE Vision interfaces. The cameras are designated EAR99 requiring no license for lawful export.
